Mature Mind: The Positive Power of the Aging Brain
(Book)
Author: Gene Cohen, MD, PhD

The Mature Mind is a book that explores how positive changes in our brains have the potential to enhance, not diminish, our lives after 50.

The author draws upon research in neuroscience and psychology, vignettes from history and case studies to illustrate the positive power of the aging brain. Four developmental phases of the aging brain are explained. The book covers cognition, memory, wisdom and creativity and offers practical advice for personal growth.

Gene Cohen is a founder of the U.S. National Institute on Aging and is currently director of the Center of Aging, Health & Humanities at George Washington University.
