The Mayo Clinic Plan for Healthy Aging is a book that explores the many aspects of what you need to do and know to live stronger, longer and healthier at any age. It includes tips, tools and strategies to help you stay active, energetic and disease-free. Topics covered include health risk factors, memory, exercise, nutrition, vitamins and supplements, and how to be proactive with your health care.

The book also includes a Quick Guide offering an overview of recommended treatment options and self-care techniques for conditions commonly associated with aging such as arthritis, heart disease and osteoporosis.

The book was designed by a group of more than 20 Mayo Clinic physicians and health-care professionals.

Edward Creagan is a specialist in internal medicine, medical oncology, hospice medicine and palliative care. He is a professor of medical oncology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and a former president of the Mayo Clinic staff.
