Organization: Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada

Living with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis is a guide written to help people with progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) obtain the necessary information to manage their health and well-being.

The booklet begins by explaining the basics of progressive MS and the different types of MS. The booklet then explores non-pharmacological ways people with MS can improve their quality of life under the following topics:

• specialized MS clinics
• getting the most of physician visits
• rehabilitation services
• diet, exercise and stress reduction
• asking for help
• group support

Other chapters focus on treatment options, symptom management and complementary and alternative medicines.

Readers will also find a glossary of terms and a symptom diary.

The booklet is also available in French.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada is an independent, voluntary health agency providing information to assist individuals in making their own decisions.
