Message from the Chair

Dr. Anthony Levitt
Chief of Psychiatry, Women’s College Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

The X Effects Conference: Women and Mental Health in the Workplace is hosted by the Women’s College Hospital Mental Health Department and will welcome 300 participants – mental health and human resource professionals, managers, executives, clinicians, administrators, policy makers, academics, researchers, educators, healthcare workers and consumers.

Complex problems require creative solutions. Reintegrating women who return to work from a mental health leave of absence requires the participation and collaboration of diverse stakeholders – stakeholders who recognize the impact of the returning worker’s relationship to her employer, workplace, co-workers and herself.

The X Effects Conference will engage you in a dynamic and innovative solution-focused program.

Morning sessions will present perspectives on women and the global workplace as well as information on mental health conditions and how they are expressed in the workplace.

Participants will explore the complex factors, share best practices and generate creative solutions in the facilitated breakout sessions in the afternoon. We invite you to help identify the problems, ask the tough questions and develop new responses.

The X Effects Conference will create a shared understanding of the complex issues that affect women’s mental health in the workplace and generate innovative solutions and inspired strategies for action to effect change and improve outcomes – for the working woman, her family, the workplace and the healthcare system.

Please join us at our first X Effects Conference: Women and Mental Health in the Workplace.
