Mary Addison is the Clinical Program Specialist in the Program for
Midlife Women and Older Women at the Women’s College Hospital and
the former Director of the Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Care Centre.
She is a member of the International Federation of Gynecology
and Obstetrics Panel on Violence Against Women. She frequently consults
to local, national and international groups on issues related to sexual
assault and domestic violence.
Marsha Cohen, MD
Marsha Cohen is a Senior Research Scientist at Women's College Research Institute and is the Program Director of the Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research Program at the University of Toronto. Dr. Cohen is Professor, Department of Health Administration, with a cross-appointment to the Department of Anaesthesia at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Cohen holds a Medical Research Council of Canada Senior Scientist Award (1997 to 2000) and was a National Health Research Scholar, National Health Research and Development Program (NHRDP), Health Canada for two terms. Dr. Cohen has served
on various external granting agencies and has reviewed for many scientific journals.
Dr. Cohen's current research focus is on the implementation of a protocol to investigate "Life events after pregnancy," a multidisciplinary study that examines medical and psychosocial outcomes of pregnancy and childbirth.
Anna Day, MD, FRCPC, FCCP
Anna Day is a respirologist at Women's College Hospital
and an Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Health
Administration
at the University of Toronto. Dr. Day was Physician-in-Chief at Women's
College from 1991-1999. Through her leadership, the Department of Medicine
adopted a strategic focus in women's health by developing academic and
clinical programs which are important to women.
Dr. Day is a founding board member of Women's College Research Institute.
Lynn From, MD, FRCPC
Lynn From is Head of the Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine,
at Women's College Hospital and is a Professor of Medicine
and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. Her particular interest
is in both the clinical diagnosis and the identification of risk factors
for melanoma, as well as in the pathology of melanoma and investigation
of prognostic factors.
Gillian Hawker, MD, MSc, FRCPC
Gillian Hawker is a staff rheumatologist and the Director of the Osteoporosis
Clinical Research Program at Women's College Hospital
and is affiliated with Women's College Research Institute. Dr.
Hawker is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at
the University of Toronto and a Senior Investigator with the Arthritis
Community Research and Evaluation Unit at The Toronto Hospital Research
Unit.
Dr. Hawker is a member of the Osteoporosis Society of Canada Scientific Advisory Board and the Board of Directors and a member of the Medical Planning Committee of the Arthritis Society of Canada. She is also the recipient of the Medical Research Council of Canada Scholar Award.
Dr. Hawker's osteoporosis research focuses on the factors which determine
the attainment and maintenance of peak bone mass in young women and children
and secondary osteoporosis in children and young adults. Her arthritis
research focuses on improving health care delivery to individuals living
with arthritis.
Andrea Miller, RD
Andrea Miller is a registered dietician at Women's College Hospital
where she sees patients for a variety of reasons ranging from allergies
to vegetarianism.
Ms Miller writes for Patient Care, a national medical journal read by 27,000 physicians across Canada and the United States. She has developed numerous teaching tools and pamphlets for nutrition education and acts as a nutrition consultant to local and national television programs.
Beverley J. Richardson, MD, FRCPC
Beverley Richardson is the former Chief, Medical Staff Affairs at Women's
College Hospital and has been Chair of the Gender Issues Committee,
Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto since 1992. Previously
Dr. Richardson was the Chair of the Committee on the Status of Women,
City of Toronto and Chair, District 11 of the Ontario Medical Association.
Dr. Richardson has a part-time gastroenterology practice and was the medical
co-editor of the Women's Health Matters newsletter, the precursor to the
Women’s Health Matters website.
